Historical Overview

The in-game SCAR-20 is based on the real-world FN SCAR 20S (and its military counterpart, the FN Mk 20 SSR or Sniper Support Rifle). Developed by the Belgian manufacturer FN Herstal, the SCAR 20S is a precision designated marksman rifle chambered primarily in 7.62×51mm NATO (though a 6.5mm Creedmoor variant also exists). It features a cold hammer-forged, free-floating 20-inch barrel, a two-stage match trigger, and an extended receiver for mounting high-power telescopic sights. The real SCAR 20S is highly prized for its long-range accuracy, modularity, and ability to deliver rapid follow-up shots with manageable recoil — characteristics perfectly mirrored by its devastating in-game counterpart.
