Historical Overview
A compact variant of the M4 platform, the Mk 18 was developed for U.S. special operations forces needing a shorter barrel for close-quarters combat without sacrificing full-auto capability. Chambered in 5.56mm NATO with a 30-round magazine, it trades some muzzle velocity for maneuverability. In CS2, it's the aggressive CT's rifle of choice — faster fire rate than the M4A1-S, bigger magazine, and forgiving enough to spray through smokes and hold multi-man pushes.
