Galil AR
Historical Overview
An Israeli assault rifle developed in the early 1970s by Yisrael Galili, heavily inspired by the Finnish RK 62 — itself a refined AK — after Israeli forces found the M16 too unreliable in the Sinai desert during the Six-Day War. Chambered in 5.56×45mm NATO with a 35-round magazine and a folding stock, it became the standard-issue rifle of the IDF for decades. In CS2, it's the T-side's budget rifle: cheaper than the AK-47, with a larger mag and faster fire rate, but less damage per shot — a solid choice when funds are tight.
