Understanding CS2 Agent Skin Rarity Tiers

Agent skins in Counter‑Strike 2 follow the same rarity ladder that weapon finishes use, but the visual cues are tied to the agent’s outfit rather than a weapon model. The hierarchy runs from Consumer Grade (white) through Industrial Grade (light blue), Mil‑Spec (blue), Restricted (purple), Classified (pink), Covert (red) and finally Contraband (gold). Each step up roughly halves the drop probability, which directly influences market scarcity and price ceiling.

Because agents are tied to specific operations, the supply of a given rarity is also capped by the number of cases that contain that operation’s agent pool. A Covert agent from a discontinued operation can become exponentially rarer than a Covert agent still obtainable from an active case, even though both share the same color label.
